P&D Qual Cert Driver Training (Guardian Owl, LLC) A 3-day professional training and certification program covering classroom, range, and road test evaluations. Guardian Owl provides the official Qual Cert certification after Day 3. Days 4–5 live driving with a veteran driver are required by FedEx Ground and must be provided by the contractor. Contractors also supply the training vehicle, driver info, sign-offs, waivers, and upload documents to 1st Advantage.

Program Overview

The training program includes:

  1. Day One: Classroom instruction + Online exam (can be completed on a phone).

  2. Day Two: Range course – behind-the-wheel observation and evaluation.

  3. Day Three: Road test – behind-the-wheel observation and evaluation.

Not included by Guardian Owl, LLC - This is the contractors responsibility:

       4. Day Four: LIVE Training - MUST have 4 hours and no more than 8 hours of driving time

       5. Day Five: LIVE Training - MUST have 4 hours and no more than 8 hours of driving time

  • Days Four & Five consist of live training: Driving and delivering with a veteran driver of 12 months of driving with no reported incidents


PLEASE NOTE


  • Final Certification (PDF Road Test) will be emailed to you after Day Three is completed.

  • Day Four & Five: For Ground Cloud to complete QUAL CERT requirements, Guardian Owl, LLC needs:

    • The full name of the driver being trained (for Days Three and Five).

    • The driver’s FedEx ID badge number.


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Trainer must have no reported accidents within the past 12 months to conduct live training.

  • Trainers cannot drive more than 8 hours per day and must drive at least 4 hours during training.

  • Days Four & Five consist of live training and delivery driving with a veteran driver with 12 months of

  • experience and no reported incidents.

  • It is your responsibility to provide the training.



Additional Contractor Responsibilities:

  • Contractors are responsible for uploading the certification and the GC 3-Day Road Test to 1st Advantage — not Guardian Owl, LLC.

    • Payment must be paid before day one of training class - If any driver is a no show or fails a refund will be made in return minus $50 per driver for no show or failure. Read Failure Policy below

  • Contractors must sign off at the bottom of the PDF named “GC 3 Day Road Test V3” before uploading to 1st Advantage.

  • Contractors are responsible for providing the training vehicle.

  • Contractors and drivers must sign a waiver form acknowledging that if an employee is injured during training, Guardian Owl, LLC is not responsible for any medical attention or related costs.

Failure Policy

If a driver fails and cannot be processed to pass, you will only be billed $50 for that driver — not the full class price.

Reasons for Failure:

  • No-show

  • Failure of the online exam at the end of Day One

  • Range course issues on Day Two, including:

    • Failure to listen or follow instructions

    • Inability to drive professionally:

      • Speeding

      • Failure to wear a seatbelt after multiple reminders

      • Hitting cones repeatedly or lack of spatial control

If the trainee is involved in an accident during training:
Guardian Owl, LLC is not responsible.
